This well situated auberge has a wonderful setting overlooking the Armançon river in a small town near the well known wine making hot-spot of Chablis. The town also sits on the edge of a cycle route which traces the Canal de Bourgogne and so is extremely well placed to benefit from all sorts of tourism.

The auberge has a garden at the back and a riverside terrace at the front. Inside is the bar/cafe and a commercial kitchen. There is also a large reception room with a fireplace, two ensuite bedrooms which are rented out and the owner's accommodation.

The British owners, who live at the property, have owned the auberge for 15 years. Now they feel that it is time to retire. The business has been an important part of village life and represents a rare opportunity for someone to take it forward. ABOUT THE AREA

The auberge is in the village of Argentenay which is in the Yonne department and is around 2.5 hours south east of Paris by car. The commune is traversed by both the Armaçon river and the Canal de Bourgogne, which create a picturesque setting and make it popular with cyclists, walkers and holiday makers in general. The region is also renowned for the fine wines of the Bourgogne and you are only around 35 minutes by car from the famous wine town of Chablis, making wine tourism an important local feature.
