Thirty years ago we bought an 18th-century Perigordine stone farmhouse with its distinctive tall, steep roof and magnificent large traditional stone barn. It has been described by someone who knows the area well as a “gem” given its wonderful, tranquil position at the end of a private lane with an excellent panoramic view of the surrounding countryside. The next 12 months were spent sympathetically renovating and extending the farm house, leaving exposed beams throughout, furnishing it mainly with antique furniture, and building a heated outdoor swimming pool. The house sleeps eight people.
On the ground floor there is a dining hall, salon / living room, fully fitted kitchen, home office (with good broadband connection), large master en suite bedroom, a WC, and a small bedroom with two single beds. Upstairs there are two double, en suite bedrooms and an attic.
The house and historic barn are situated in 2.471 Acres (1.10 Hectares) of easily maintained, mature garden and grounds. A particular feature of the garden is the climbing roses on the walls of the house and the adjoining barn.
