The picturesque town of Ceret is situated in the most southern part of France just across the border from Spain and the Costa Brava. It gained fame through Picasso and fellow artists who sought its exceptional quality of light. This artistic tradition is maintained through many galleries and museums. The town offers numerous opportunities for cultural and leisure activities. Its Saturday market set in the shade of century old plane trees is the most animated of the region. The spa town Amelie, the sandy beaches of Argelès, Collioure and the beautiful rocky coast are all only a short drive away.
