L'Isle-Jourdain is a friendly village of about 1200 people with a good mix of locals and expats. it is considered to be one of the prettiest in the Vienne valley because of the charming houses and small streets and because of its setting on the edge of the river Vienne. The village has a central square with good basic services and a regular market and fair. The house is situated on a resident’s only street with ample parking. It’s only a few minutes walk to both the river and the centre of town, which has a variety of restaurants, shops and a supermarket. The river, meanwhile is the source of a variety of sports, from kayaking to water skiing in the lake created by damming the watercourse to bungee jumping from the viaduct which crosses it.
