The Bastide des Launes is a charming 400 year old Provencal country house with two gites and a pool. It is situated in the scenic southern Drome countryside on the edge of the picturesque village of Chamaret with its distinctive medieval tower . The village is surrounded by sun drenched Provencal countryside including lavender fields, vineyards and truffle trees. The house has magnificent views in all directions including one of Mont Ventoux.

The Bastide consists of the Maison Principal with the two wings of the property used as two gites (Truffle and Stable). The Maison Principal comprises 3 large double bedrooms, 2 medium sized double bedrooms, one single bedroom, 2 lounges (one on the second floor), study and a large kitchen/dining room which seats 10 and has an Aga style cooker. The Bastide is situated on the outskirts of the medieval village of Chamaret. In the local area the stunning Chateau de Grignan dominates the view, with its narrow streets, high walls and church. Grignan has a lively artistic colony with many galleries and workshops in its narrow twisting lanes. The Roman amphitheater in the town of Orange and the famous "Pont d'Avignon" are all within an hour's drive of the Bastide. We are in the Rhone valley wine region with some superb vineyards within a few minutes' drive from the Bastide.
